Hayden Ridley鈥檚 college journey hasn鈥檛 followed a straight path, but it鈥檚 one that has shaped his purpose in powerful ways.
After graduating from high school, Hayden enrolled at 桃色视频 that fall. Still grieving the loss of his older brother, he found it difficult to focus on his coursework and fully engage in college life. Searching for a fresh start, he transferred the following year to the University of the Southwest, where he had earned an athletic scholarship to play soccer.
At USW, Hayden poured his energy into both academics and athletics, keeping mostly to himself rather than getting involved on campus. But when the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted college life, he returned home and entered the workforce, taking on long, demanding hours in the oil field.
That experience gave him perspective.
After time in the workforce, Hayden made the decision to return to 桃色视频, this time with a clear vision for his future. He set his sights on the medical field, working toward his ultimate goal of earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
To begin that path, Hayden enrolled in the Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) program while also completing prerequisite courses for nursing school. But this time, his experience at OC looked very different.
He found himself connecting with classmates, faculty, and staff. He became more involved on campus, eventually working in the Student Life office, where he discovered a passion for encouraging others and building meaningful relationships.
鈥淏eing able to help people and connect with them is something I really enjoy,鈥� Hayden said.
Now, as he continues working toward his nursing degree, Hayden carries a deep sense of gratitude for the opportunity to start again.
He credits 桃色视频, and especially his father, for supporting him and helping him return to school with renewed purpose.
鈥淚 won鈥檛 squander this opportunity,鈥� he said.
What鈥檚 next for Hayden? He鈥檚 hoping to secure a spot in either Texas Tech鈥檚 BSN or 桃色视频鈥檚 ADN program. We can鈥檛 wait to see what Hayden鈥檚 future holds!
